Member Code of Conduct
Sample draft — for the executive to review, adapt, and approve. Modelled on similar policies used by other NMRA regions.
NMRA Canada is committed to providing a welcoming, respectful, and safe environment for everyone involved in our hobby — at region and division meets, conventions, online forums, and in all correspondence with the NMRA Canada office.
All members and guests agree to:
- Treat fellow members, volunteers, and guests with courtesy and respect, regardless of age, background, experience level, or modelling scale/era preference
- Behave responsibly and safely at layout tours, meets, and conventions, respecting other people’s homes, equipment, and models
- Engage in honest and constructive communication, both in person and online (forums, social media, eBulletin comments)
- Follow the direction of event organizers, division officers, and NMRA Canada volunteers at sanctioned events
- Report any concerns about safety, harassment, or misconduct to a division officer or the NMRA Canada office
Not tolerated:
- Harassment, discrimination, or intimidation of any kind
- Disruptive or unsafe behaviour at events or layout visits
- Misrepresentation of NMRA Canada in public or online communications
